Great success for Dutch charity Dierenbescherming in 2020!
The year 2020 was certainly an extraordinary one. We can all agree on that! Despite all the challenges and uncertainty that the year brought, we are happy the Dutch animal welfare organization Dierenbescherming, official partner of BISSELL Pet Foundation, achieved great successes, helping homeless animals across The Netherlands.

Despite all the challenges and uncertainty that the year brought, we are happy the Dutch animal welfare organization Dierenbescherming, official partner of BISSELL Pet Foundation, achieved great successes, helping homeless animals across The Netherlands.
BISSELL Pet Foundation is very proud to have this amazing partnership with Dierenbescherming, who share our passion for helping animals in need. Since the beginning of the partnership in October 2020, we have already started meaningful projects together. But even before our official collaboration, BISSELL employees embarked up on the big clean-up. BISSELL sent a team to help the staff of the Dierenbescherming animal shelter in Amsterfoort clean the facilities for a day. In addition, BISSELL cleaning devices were donated to ease the daily cleaning.
Continuous effort for animal welfare: the Dierenbescherming
The dedicated team at Dierenbescherming is working tirelessly, day after day to help pets in need. With a broad range of projects, such as the Animal Welfare Inspection, Animal Buddy or Helpdesk Assistance and even direct lobbying in the Dutch government, the organization advocates for animal rights and fights for animal welfare.
And what they accomplish is quite the feat! With a heartwarming video, Dierenbescherming shows everything they have achieved in 2020 alone, with the help of numerous partners and supporters including BISSELL Pet Foundation.
Achievements include:
- Sheltering 24,000 animals in animal rescue centers
- Over 16,000 animal inspections completed
- Rescued 70,000 animals in need with the animal ambulance
- Countless neglected animals rehabilitated and re-homed
- And so much more!

We’re not stopping there, in 2021 we have a lot of plans together with Dierenbescherming and our other partners in Europe and worldwide. We’re looking forward to implementing great and important projects for the benefit of animals and bring BISSELL Pet Foundation vision ‘until every pet has a home’ to life across the world.
